Annie Dow spent 6 very happy years at The New School, Butterstone – a weekly boarding school for pupils who find mainstream schooling difficult, located in the hills behind Dunkeld in Perthshire.
“It is thanks to Annie and thanks to the fire drills at The New School, that we are alive today’, says Sophie Dow, we escaped by seconds according to the Fire brigade.”
The New School Butterstone is an independent residential school with a specialism. It is aimed at those young people, aged 11-19, who find mainstream education difficult to access.
At The New School classes are small and curriculum is individualised to motivate and encourage each student to learn and achieve. Accreditation is gathered across the 24 hour curriculum. Support is available through therapies and key worker input.
